A WORLD CLASS TEACHING FACILITY

PRACTICAL ANATOMY & SURGICAL EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT: Practical Anatomy & Surgical Education, Center for Anatomical Science and Education, Saint Louis University School of Medicine, is dedicated to the development and presentation of innovative medical, health, and science workshops.  Practical Anatomy strives to promote the concept of lifelong learning by utilizing the latest technology to connect young people, residents, health care professionals, and surgeons to world-class experts and faculty.

The programs offered at Practical Anatomy are divided into three components:

1. Medical Education for health care professionals including:
   • hands-on medical education workshops
   • individualized physician training
   • computer-assisted instruction tutorials
2. Medical Research focuses on:
   • basic and applied research
3. Community Outreach:
   • Adventures in Medicine & Science (AIMS) 3-dimensional presentations for middle and high school students
   • AIMS hands-on programs for middle and high school students
   • AIMS BackVisions program
   • AIMS Summer Workshop for high school students
   • AIMS Distance Learning programs
   • AIMS Sports Medicine and Athletic Training program
